October 2021 Class Curriculum

Also, we have added Jiu Jitsu classes back to the regular schedule.  Jiu Jitsu is a separate martial art that is completely different from Taekwondo.  It consists mostly of wrestling type techniques.  This class requires a different uniform and there is also a different belt system.  Students must be at least 8 years old to take this program.  If you are a current CMA member, there is no additional cost to take this class aside from the cost of the uniform.  If you are interested in enrolling in Jiu Jitsu classes please respond to this email  Classes will be held on Tuesday’s at 4:45pm and Thursday’s at 5:30pm.  Please click the link below to download the NEW Class Schedule:

Important dates for the month of October include:

Monday, October 11th – CMA Camp Day – Livingston Public schools will be closed for Columbus Day so we will be hosting camp at CMA starting at 8am.  There will be games on the mat such as: Dodgeball, high jump, nerf gun wars, etc.  Lunch time is usually between 11:30 and 12pm, Students are encouraged to bring their lunch. Lunch can also be purchased within our complex.  We plan to take the students to a local pumpkin patch around 1pm for some fun activities.  The additional cost for the trip is $11 plus an optional $2 for the pumpkin slingshot launch.  Regular classes begin at 4pm.  Camp cost is $75 for a full day.  After School Students are $55.

Saturday, October 23rd – Promotion Testing – All black belts and color belts students 8 years and over will test at 10am.  Color belt students ages 7 and under will test at 12pm.  All black belts are encouraged to take the test and color belts with 3 stripes on their belt are qualified to test.  Students will be required to recite the Children’s Home Rules.  White belts must recite the first 3 rules and then add one Home Rule per belt.  Black belts will be required to recite all 15 Home Rules.  Please click the link below to download the Children’s Home Rules:

Thursday, October 28th – Friend Day – All students are encouraged to bring a friend with them to class on this day.  We have a fun class prepared for students of all experience levels.  If your friend signs up for our regular program you will receive a referral credit good for your next testing fee.

Friday, October 29th – Halloween Party  All students, friends, and families are invited to attend our Halloween Party!  The party will be held from 5pm until 7pm in the parking lot of CMA like last year.  We will have a trunk or treat event and encourage all families to decorate their car and provide treats for the kids.  We will have a contest for the best Trunk.  Other contests and events will include: Costume Contest, donut eating contest, Mummy Wrap game, and much more.  You don’t want to miss our best party of the year.

I would also like to remind everyone that we will be hosting the 5th Annual Founder’s Championship Open Martial Arts Tournament on Saturday, December 4th.  I would like to encourage all of our students to support this event in honor of Supreme Master Bok Man Kim.  Students who plan to compete in the tournament or demonstration should attend the Tournament & Demonstration Team training on Saturday mornings at 10am.  Tournament events include: Forms, Weapon Forms, Team Forms, Sparring, and Board Breaking.  You can register for the tournament by clicking the link below:
